Katy's Car Wash Donates $1,000 in Tornado Relief Aid (05.23.11)

Katy's owners are no strangers to losing their home to Mother Nature as they lost their home to a lightning strike in 1998.

To aide in tornado relief efforts, through Georgia's American Red Cross, Katy's Car Wash donated $1000 for the victims of Ringold and Trenton Georgia. On May 7th, 2011, Katy's designated this day to donate proceeds from each wash to this cause and posted signage around the parking lot.  Katy's extended it to also include Sunday, May 8th.  Both days, Katy's customers also donated cash for this purpose.  The total amounted to over $900 so Katy's decided to round the amount to $1000.

Katy's owners are no strangers to losing their home to Mother Nature as they lost their home to a lightning strike in 1998. "We lost everything" said Brenda Hemphill owner of Katy's, "but the major difference in our loss and the recent April weather was that there were only a couple of houses impacted and not entire neighborhoods."

Katy's would like to thank their customers for making this donation possible.

Katy's Car Wash is located at 12960 Hwy 9 in Milton, Georgia or at www.katyscarwash.com
