In a continuing pattern to keep the public unaware of police department
activities and to limit access of citizens from expressing
concerns about the ever-increasing criminal activity within our
city, there was no announcement by the newspaper that is the
legal instrument of the City of Roswell relative to the forthcoming
Police Department Assessment Public Information Session
conducted by a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation
for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., (CALEA).
I request The Beacon notify the public that interested parties are invited
to offer comments at a public session tomorrow, Monday, April
27, 2009 at 7 p.m. The session will be conducted in the Roswell City
Council Chambers, Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street. If for some reason
an individual cannot speak at the public information session but
would still like to provide comments to the reaccredidation assessment
team, he or she may do so by telephone. This telephone is private
and unrecorded. The public may call 770-640-4509 on Monday,
April 27, 2009 between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
