July 20

   Clay Classes at the Roswell Art Center West, 1355 Woodstock Rd. 
   Day and evening classes, offered for beginning to advanced students, include hand building and wheel as well as mold making, garden vessels, figurative sculpture, raku and soda firing and more.
   Classes meet weekly for 4 to 8 weeks and enrolled students may work in the center during open studio time.

   The market will feature local fresh produce, baked goods, plants, local raw honey and more.

   The market is a Georgia-Grown market, showcasing the finest agricultural products from no further than 100 miles away.

June 22
   “Supplements Smarts” Lecture at the Roswell Library, 115 Norcross St. 
   The lecture will be offered at 11:10 a.m. and again at 1:10 p.m.  In addition, blood pressure testing will be available after the first lecture starting at NOON.
   The lecture speaker will be Ellen Honea, a pharmacist from North Fulton Regional Hospital.  She will discuss dietary supplements and explain the more popular ones, such as calcium, in depth.
   The program is free and open to the public.  Reservations for the lecture are suggested.

June 27 and 28
   Amateur Radio Field Day hosted by the North Fulton Amateur Radio League at Waller Park Extension, 160 Dobbs Dr., Roswell.
   The free 24-hour event starts at 2 p.m. Saturday.  Amateur radio operators will show you their emergency capabilities.  See the latest technology in radio gear communicating to other ham stations across the world using the new digital modes, as well as voice and morse code.  Participate as a guest.

   Fly Fishing Workshop from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell.
   Chris Scalley, owner of River Through Atlanta guide service, will be teaching proper fishing techniques for both the beginner and the expert. 
   Ages 12 & up.  The fee is $30 non-members/$25 members.

   Roswell’s 10th Annual July 4th Celebration at Roswell High School, 11595 King Rd.
   Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics for an old fashion family outing.
   Musical entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. with 3 Way Street, Back Trax at 6:30 p.m. and the popular Banks & Shane performs at 7:30 p.m. 
   Concessions will be available and there will be activities for children.
   At dark, a 40-minute fireworks display will highlight the evening.

   Alpharetta’s July 4th Celebration at Wills Park, 11925 Wills Rd.
   Bring your blanket or chairs and picnic basket and relax under the stars.
   The festivities begin at 5 p.m. and include free children’s games and a concert by the Alpharetta City Band at 6 p.m.  Watch the beautiful fireworks display at dusk.

    “Pinocchio” Puppet Show at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.

Through June 27
   “The Producers” by Mel Brooks at The Rosewater Theatre, 633 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Roswell.
   This classic cult comedy film won twelve Tony Awards.  The plot is simple:  a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars.  Only one thing goes awry:  the show is a smash hit!
   Rated PG-13 for adult content.  Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.  Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors (plus tax) for Friday and Saturday and $16 (plus tax) for the Sunday performance.

    “The Frog Prince” Puppet Show at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.
   Hilarious adaptation of a battle of wits between a spoiled princess and a clever frog.  The story is followed by a zany variety show.

   “The Box? A Show of Feelings” Puppet Show at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.
   In seven Story-sequences a child and a dog recreate in mime the eight emotions of Curiosity, Sadness, Frustration, Fear, Happiness, Anger, Loneliness and Love.  Each sequence is complete within itself yet the performance builds to a unified theatrical experience where each emotion is observed and felt by the audience.
   Recommended for ages 5 and over.

   Patriotic Music Celebration at Roswell United Methodist Church, 814 Mimosa Blvd.
   The RUMC Sanctuary Choir and Atlanta Wind Symphony join forces in a musical tribute to our nation.
   Concert times are Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 28 at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
