Registration begins for Fall classes at Roswell Art Center West, 1355 Woodstock Rd., Roswell.
This state of the art studio will be holding various clay classes throughout the Fall, including beginner handbuilding, all levels wheel, raku, ceramics for the garden, plus more.

“Wii Wednesdays” at 1:30 p.m. at the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center at North Park.
Re-ignite your competitive spirit through the Wii interactive sports program for adults 50 and older, co-sponsored by Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department and the Alpharetta Golden Age Club.
There is no fee to participate. Bring your friends and spend an afternoon playing a variety of Nintendo Wii Sports games including Bowling, Tennis, Baseball, Golf and Boxing.

Friday Night Dive-In family movie night at the Alpharetta City Pool at Wills Park.
The gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie will be shown at dusk (between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.).
Concessions will be available. Pool general admission is $3 per person. 2009 pool pass holders will be admitted free of charge.

Malawi Fundraiser at 2 p.m., at Unity North Atlanta Church, 4255 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta.
Join UN Ambassador and former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young raise money to build a well for the people of Malawi who walk miles for water.
One well costs approximately $16,000. Two - three wells ensure that the people never go hungry. Your support can help save lives.

1st Ever ... Great Chattahoochee River Paint-Out along the Chattahoochee River at Island Ford, Azalea Drive, Vickery Creek and Willeo Park.
The public is invited to meet the artists and watch as they create beautiful works of art inspired by the great Chattahoochee River.
Watch the artists as they work, and perhaps find a piece of art that you just can’t resist, one that you watched being created from conception to finish.
The artists will select up to two pieces of work, created on site, to exhibit at a special reception on August 15th from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the Island Ford Headquarters of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

Roswell Mayoral Debate at the Holiday Inn, Holcomb Bridge Rd., Roswell.
Mayor Jere Wood, Councilwoman Lori Henry and Councilman David Tolleson will debate from 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
There will be a cocktail reception featuring a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres from area restaurants from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Come early and have an opportunity to meet the mayoral candidates along with other area politicians and business owners.

Law Enforcement - Look & Learn from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center, 39 Hill St., Roswell.
Learn about personal safety, calling 911, peer pressure, fingerprinting and permits, criminal investigations and more.
Be sworn in, and receive a Junior Police badge. Take home educational materials and activity books. Enjoy pizza and drinks at the end of the tour.
Ages 6 - 12 on the date of the event. The fee is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Bats!! Educational Program from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell.
Have you ever wondered why these elusive creatures are so important? Have you seen a bat up close? This program includes classroom education, dinner & bat netting. Hosted in partnership with the Georgia Bat Working Group.
Ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is recommended. $30 for non-members / $20 members and includes dinner.

“Paying for Education” Seminar hosted by Jennifer Heal of Edward Jones at 6:30 p.m. at Chambrel, 1000 Applewood Dr., Roswell.
The seminar will focus on the reality of educational costs, the value of saving, basic financial choices available for education savings and guidelines for financial aid.

Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition Fundraiser at the Country Club of Roswell, 2500 Club Springs Dr., Roswell.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and includes a wine tasting of 5 great wines, entertainment by Adam Komesar, “Mr. Sinatra,” and silent/live auctions with all proceeds going to the Georgia Prostate Cancer Coalition.
A donation of $55 per person is required. Seating is limited, so please RSVP before 9/18.

1st Annual Sheena Hutchinson Memorial Swim Invitational hosted by Edenwilde Barracudas Swim Team at 5:30 p.m. at the Edenwilde Subdivision pool.
Swimmers from the Edenwilde Barracudas and the Wexford Waves will be competing to raise money in memory of Sheena Hutchinson to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Greater Atlanta. Everyone from the community is welcome to come out and enjoy the event and show support.
There will be approximately 75 events for both adults and children, along with a fabulous raffle giving away incredible prizes such as a 2 night stay at the Ritz Carlton, use of a BMW convertible for a 3 day weekend and gift certificates to area restaurants and merchants.
Concessions will be available, including cupcakes from Cakes by Darcy.
100% of event proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Greater Atlanta.

Centennial Junior Knights Baseball Team Tryouts for all rising 7th and 8th grade boys zoned for Centennial High School.
The Junior Knights team is a feeder program for Centennial High School baseball and practices and plays on the CHS baseball field.
Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Centennial High School, 9310 Scott Rd., Roswell.
