Fulton County Commissioner and D-50 state house candidate Lynne Riley (R-Johns Creek) was hit wit a subpoena Saturday afternoon from the Fulton County Board of Ethics that commands her to personally appear before the Board to testify in response to a complaint filed by Georgia House Democrat members Roger Bruce, Ralph Long, Joe Heckstall, Virgil Fludd, Rashad Taylor and Tyrone Brooks. The  complaint filed reads as follows:

“We are  writing to file a formal request that the Board of Ethics look into the  possibility of a conflict of interest related to Commissioner Lynn Riley’s role in an organization committed to recreating Milton County at the expense of Fulton County. While we fully support her right to advocate for the creation of Milton County we do not believe she can do so and remain in her current position. To do so, appears to violate her oath of office and other professional decorum to protect the interest of Fulton County and the residents that reside within the county.

The Board of Commissioners has taken a formal position in opposition to the creation of Milton County. They have determined that it would not be in the best interest of the county or residents of the county.

Thank  you in advance for your attention to this issue. We look forward to your  investigation and response.”

Riley will appear before the board Thursday, June 24 at 10:00 AM at the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Prior Street, Atlanta,  GA  30303, Room 4056.  She is represented by House Judiciary Chairman Wendell Willard
(R-Sandy Springs).
