Beach Lands The "Transportation Man" (06.08.11)
GDOT board member and GNFCC CEO Brandon Beach lands the big fish.
GDOT board member and GNFCC CEO Brandon Beach lands the big fish.
Beach is hosting an exclusive fundraiser tonight at the Capital City Club in Atlanta for U.S. House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure Chairman John L. Mica (R-FL).
Mica, a veteran House member and Chairman of one of the most powerful committees in Congress, controls literally billions of dollars in U.S. transportation and infrastructure funding. Beach's coup -- to get Mica to Atlanta -- comes as perfect timing for Beach and his new group, Progress Partners of Atlanta North Fulton, as they gear up to raise money to secure critical transportation funding for the metro area.
Mica is the most influential ally Beach and his Progress Partners will need as they push for road, rail and other transportation related improvements in the area, which is stagnated with snarling traffic and no coordinated mass transit plan.
Beach's access to Mica will no doubt lead to funding and resources the Atlanta and North Fulton sector needs to attract more businesses to relocate here and create much needed jobs.
