Seniors at King's Ridge Christian School are preparing for graduation as well as turning heads with an impressive list of accomplishments. The school's fourth graduating class made history by accumulating over $1 million in scholarship awards (not including Hope Scholarship Awards) for a class of 16 students. The class of 2010 also produced the school's first National Merit Finalist, Hannah Rushin, who earned a Presidential Scholarship from Auburn University.

"In an area that has some good public schools we made the decision to seek the value-add in a private school education," commented Jack McManus, parent of Hillary in the class of 2010. "What we saw was an opportunity for our daughter to have some incredible academic preparation that translated into scholarship monies, opportunities for involvement in many areas of the high school, a spiritual environment where morals and values are taught each day, and the chance to be surrounded by a group of teachers and peers that know and celebrate her."
One difference at KRCS is the personalized approach to college admission with the use of software that starts with personality testing and tracking student interest and college selection in the freshman year. "We want our students to find a college that is the right fit for them," related college guidance counselor Vikki Park. "It's not enough to get into college, but we want a place where they will thrive."
King's Ridge Christian School can back up their success with some impressive statistics. With a 100 percent college placement rate, 91percent of AP exams resulting in a score of "3" or higher and average SAT scores ranking 250-300 points above local schools, it is easy to see why this group of graduates is receiving attention from college admission directors.
On May 15 a group of very happy and prepared graduates tossed their mortar boards at the end of their commencement ceremony. King's Ridge Christian School is driving results with strong academics and a student-lead, faculty-sponsored and parent-supported approach to student life. The growing arts and athletics program has positioned the school to enter the Georgia High School Association in fall 2010. For more information, visit www.kingsridgecs.org.
