JOHNS CREEK, GA –Emory Johns Creek Hospital welcomes Dr. Elias Dagnew, a board certified neurosurgeon to its medical staff. Dr. Dagnew graduated from Dallas Baptist University summa cum laude. He attended the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, graduating with honors. He earned a Masters of Art degree in Neurosciences and was a three year recipient of the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Student Fellowship. Dr. Dagnew went on to complete his internship and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati at the renowned Mayfield Clinic and Spine institute, specializing in brain and spine surgery. Dr. Dagnew later completed his fellowship training in cranial, skull base, and complex spinal surgical oncology at the top ranked cancer hospital MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
His expertise in brain and spine tumor surgery sets him apart as one of only a few neurosurgeons in the Southeastern United States with fellowship training in surgical neuro-oncology. “We are pleased to have Dr. Dagnew on our staff, it is an honor to be able to offer his level of skill, training and expertise to our community,” said John Quinlivan, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
