Poll: Americans Turning on Obama (07.22.11)
According to a new FOX NEWS Poll, voters now believe Obama's policies are making the economy worse.
In the first eighteen months of Obama's presidency, polls showed that while Americans agreed that the economy was bad, they remained optimistic that it was turning around.
That optimism tanked in the summer of 2010.
But, until recently, voters were hesitant to blame Obama for the bad economy.
Not anymore.
According to a new FOX NEWS poll conducted July 17-19, voters now believe that Obama's economic policies are making things worse, 49 percent to 34 percent.
Independents agree they are worsening the situation by 50-30.
Voters under 35 blame Obama 48-25 percent.
White voters say Obama's governing is the problem by 56-28 percent.
If young people and Independents abandon Obama, he's toast, no matter how much money he raises.
According to recent Rasmussen Reports Poll, Obama trails a generic Republican candidate and runs even with Mitt Romney, at 45 percent apiece.
