Last Friday saw residents of Alpharetta gather to celebrate the remarkable milestones that Alpharetta High School has reached in its short lifetime. As the inaugural event of the Alpharetta High School Foundation, the event saw three educators honored for their efforts in helping the school reach its goals of being nationally recognized as a leader in all aspects of academics and sports.

Fulton County School Board member Katie Reeves was recognized for her efforts in creating the school and working through government red tape in getting the school what it needs; Former principal Robert Burke was honored for getting the school up and running, laying the groundwork for current principal Mary Ann Charron; teacher Rebecca Perkins was recognized not only for being Fulton County’s Teacher of the Year, but also an inspiration to students and faculty alike.

Also showcased were plans for new digital whiteboards in classrooms, a new pressbox for the sports fields and a truck to carry the instruments of the school band.
