Former President Bill Clinton is known for his political loyalty.

Ga. Attorney General Thurbert Baker (D), a candidate for governor, is known for his unwavering resolve.

Put them together and you may have a nominee.

That is exactly what Clinton is hoping by headlining a marquee fundraiser for Baker in New York City on December 7 in New York City.

Baker praised Clinton for building a strong economy, saying he would do the same in Georgia if elected to replace Republican Sonny Perdue.

In 2007, Baker endorsed then-Sen. Hillary Clinton’s bid for president, becoming one of her most prominent backers in Georgia. Barack Obama went on to win Georgia’s Democratic primary and the White House.

Since leaving office, Bill Clinton has remained one of the Democratic Party’s most sought-after fundraisers.

Baker is in a four-way race for the Democratic nomination for governor.

Clinton is expected to make a campaign appearance in Georgia for Baker prior to the July 20, 2010 primary election.
