The King's Ridge Christian School (KRCS) Board of Trustees announced on Friday, December 10 that the school will move forward with construction of the first phase of the High School complex, to open in the fall of 2013. The building’s initial phase will be consistent with the current campus plan and it will be located near the school’s entrance roundabout off of Bethany Bend.
"This will be another exciting milestone in the growth of our school, and our community is eager to come together to make the next step in our campus vision a reality," said Board Chair, Anne Marie Carlisi.
Flexibility and community will be the themes of this 40,000 – 45,000 square foot building. The first phase of the High School complex will provide the faculty and staff with space to continue to deliver excellent academics, adding enough area for approximately 275-300 high school students. The building’s internal and external architecture will feature abundant community space, providing students and faculty with areas to convene, and a directed technology plan will be incorporated into the building in order to prepare students for 21st century learning [Chuck Martin and friends above].
In January 2011 the school will begin a three-year capital campaign to fund the construction of the first phase of the High School building. The complex will become the third permanent building on the KRCS campus, joining the Barbara Adler Academic Center and the Student Center. The campus also features an athletic field with full lighting, synthetic turf and seating for over 600 spectators, and a newly constructed press box and concession house.
"The continued expansion of the KRCS campus is an important development as new admissions are underway. We look forward to sharing this news with our prospective families," said Lisa McGuire, director of admission. KRCS will host prospective families at an Open House on Sunday, January 30. The Lower School Program starts at 1:00 p.m., and the High School & Middle School Program starts at 2:00 p.m.
