Mike Bodker on Monday made his candidacy for re-election official by qualifying to seek the office of Johns Creek Mayor in November. “I want us to continue to work as a strong team to improve Johns Creek,” said Bodker.

Bodker said his desire to continue serving as mayor is based on his commitment to Johns Creek, which he and other dedicated volunteers and elected officials helped create only three short years ago.

“Johns Creek is my home, and when we launched the effort for the creation of our city we had high hopes,” Bodker said. “By working together as a team with the City Council, neighborhoods, schools and businesses, we have exceeded our expectations in some areas, and we have much left to do in others. With voter support, I want to continue the work we started and make Johns Creek even greater.”

In asking for the vote of city residents, Bodker stated his dedication to continue Johns Creek’s record of conservative government, balanced budgets and low taxes.

“On the heels of our incorporation we were faced with an historic economic downturn,” Bodker said. “Throughout, we have kept a balanced budget, met our priorities and not raised taxes.

Mike and his wife, Aileen, have 6-year-old twins, Keri and Jake, who attend Fulton County Schools. They worship at Chabad of North Fulton and enjoy the company of their two dogs, Bailey and Molly.
