BODY FOUND AFTER CAMPER FIRE IN JOHNS CREEK
Authorities in Johns Creek are investigating an early morning fire in a recreational vehicle that left one man dead.
Johns Creek Assistant Fire Chief Pat Wilson says neighbors heard an explosion early Wednesday, and investigators found the burning RV behind a house. Wilson says the cause of the fire has not been determined.
Johns Creek Fire Marshal Chad McGiboney says a propane tank was connected to the RV, but investigators aren't sure if it was being used at the time of the fire, which did not spread to the adjacent home.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
JC COUNCILWOMAN LIZ HAUSMANN RESIGNS -- RUNNING FOR COUNTY POST
“It has been a privilege to serve with each of you on the first Johns Creek City Council and to lay the foundation for the great city that is our home,” City Councilwoman Liz Hausmann said on her departure from the council.
On Apr. 26, Hausmann announced her resignation to run for a Fulton County Commission seat being vacated by incumbent Lynne Riley.
The city will leave the seat unfilled until a special election, which has yet to be determined.
“Liz brought experience and insight into government,” said City Councilwoman Bev Miller. “She was a valuable member of the council and she will be missed.”
MILTON: INTERSECTION COMMENTS STILL WELCOME
The City of Milton and Georgia Department of Transportation want to thank citizens for attending the Apr. 20 public information open house for the proposed intersection improvements at SR 140 and New Providence Road. But for those who could not make it, there are still several opportunities to review the proposals and make comments until May 4.

MILTON: CITY SEEKS PICTURE DONATIONS FOR NEW WEBSITE
This is a call to all shutterbugs in Milton. The city is revamping its Web site and would like to include its residents' best photography.
You don't need to be a professional photographer or have the best equipment -- all submissions are welcome. The Communications Department is simply looking for great shots taken at various Milton events like the Roundup, Christmas at Crabapple or Memorial Day.
The photo, however, needn't be site- or date-specific.
If you specialize in nature photography or have a picture that reflects and features what makes Milton great, please share it. The only requirement is that the picture was taken in Milton.
Everyone who submits a photo will receive special recognition on the Web site if the image is used. Those shots not used specifically on the Web site will be added to a social media-based online gallery of images to be launched with the revamped site. Donated images may also be used in future City of Milton publications, brochures and related materials. All uses will include recognition for the photographer.
You will be asked to fill out a photo release form so the city may use the image or images.
To submit a photo electronically, please e-mail Communications Manager Jason Wright at jason.wright@cityofmiltonga.us. If you have large digital images or would like to donate a number of printed pictures for use, please call Wright at 678-242-2523.

ALPHARETTA MAN SENTENCED FOR COLO. PRISON SCAM
An Alpharetta man will spend three years and five months in prison for his role in a scheme bilking a Colorado corrections facility project out of nearly $13 million.
U.S. attorney Sally Quillian Yates says Edgar J. Beaudreault Jr. was part of an elaborate fraud scheme that involved the construction of a prison.
In 2003, authorities say 61-year-old Beaudreault and San Diego co-defendant Howard Sperling tricked Cornell Corrections of California Inc. into transferring $13 million into an Atlanta account that was supposed to be an escrow account for the purchase price of a Canon City, Colo., facility under construction.
