The Johns Creek Fire Department organized their own ceremony to remember the sacrifices of the 343 members of the New York Fire Department during the September 11 attacks in 2001. In honor of those firefighters, 343 small flags were placed in front of each of the city’s fire stations, with all non-emergency dispatch radio traffic halted for a moment of silence. Bells were tolled and the firefighters each signed a special 9/11 poster that will be put on display at the headquarters.
