The recent annual Senior Presentation for the Roswell-Alpharetta Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), held at the Atlanta Athletic Club, was an exciting event. The evening was the culmination of a six-year program where 20 young ladies were recognized for their outstanding volunteer service to the community. This group of 2010 high school graduates contributed over 15,900 hours of service to the North Fulton community over the past six years, which averages over 132 hours a year for each participant.
For more than 50 years, NCL has been one of the nation’s most distinctive and well-respected mother-daughter membership organizations. NCL is committed to the development of its members as leaders, and is dedicated to volunteerism and supporting philanthropies through hands-on activities in local communities. NCL members in 15 states volunteer approximately one million hands-on hours in local communities each year.
Members are mothers and daughters in grade 7-12 who are committed to the mission and vision of NCL and who believe in the organization’s core values.
The core values of NCL are: Honoring the mother-daughter bond by together learning, growing and modeling responsibility and graciousness, empowering women with the skills and confidence to lead, nurturing through mentorship, inspiring a legacy of social awareness and compassion, providing depth of support in local communities and integrity and excellence in everything we do.
