The 11th Annual “Drive for the Cure” golf charity is to be held Monday, September 28 at the Country Club of Roswell to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation, PCF, is a non-profit charity dedicated to finding cures and controls for prostate cancer, the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer in America. In the U.S., a new case is diagnosed every 3 minutes (192,000 per year) and a life is lost every 19 minutes (over 27,000 per year) to this disease.
Since its establishment in 1993, as CaP CURE, PCF has awarded more than $320 million to over 1,500 research projects in 20 countries, making it the largest private source of prostate cancer research funding in the world. PCF-supported scientists have made tremendous progress, but much more needs to be done. By taking part in this year’s Atlanta Area Drive for the Cure, participants will be helping the PCF support ongoing research. Since its inception, this tournament at the Country Club of Roswell has generated over $355,000 for prostate cancer research.
The entry deadline for participants is September 13. Please make checks payable to PCF (Tax ID #95-4418411) and mail to: PCF, c/o The Country Club of Roswell, 2500 Club Springs Dr., Roswell, GA 30076-3738. For further information call 770-475-7820.
