Alpharetta High School Football will be hosting a youth football camp in memory of Sanders Marshall for grades 3-8.

Sanders was a Junior Raider player that passed away in February. Sanders was an outstanding student and athlete. He was a Junior Raider for two years and he also played in the Alpharetta Youth Football league for two years.

The following is a quote received from Sanders’ Football Coach, Coach Alex Rahm:

"On the football field, Sanders was a unique player. He had tenacity, quickness and determination but most importantly, he had heart. In a world of Goliaths, he was David and he found his calling on the football field as a nose guard. We would send him into battle against anyone – it did not matter the size of the opponent and he did not fear. Occasionally he would come off the field with black AstroTurf pellets stuck to the sweat of his face, his helmet crooked and perhaps even dazed but he still had a smile.  As he talked with the coaches, he would strike the Sanders pose – legs slightly crossed, arms half folded with his free hand holding his mouth piece while chewing on the mouth piece itself.

We would love hearing the opposing coach yell, “Would someone please block number 83!”

The camp will take place Monday, June 20 through Wednesday, June 22 from 8:30-12:30 at the Alpharetta High School Raider Stadium. The cost is $150 through June 13.  Thereafter, the cost will increase to $175.

Campers will receive instruction on football fundamentals and position specific skills. Campers of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Please visit www.alpharettaraiders.com for more information.
