Alpharetta High School Prediction

Breech"s Bet on Alpharetta

I was at an Alpharetta football game last year and I think Carlos Burse had 4-catches for 600 yards. Now sure, that might not even be mathematically possible because you can't exactly average 150-yards a catch on a 100-yard field, but the point here is that Burse is hands down one of the best receivers in North Fulton.

Despite the loss of three seniors, the wide receiver position is definitely still one of Alpharetta's strengths. And because Mikal Abdul-Saboor won't have to split snaps with anyone at quarterback, I expect him to find his rhythm early.

Like last year, the Raiders will be able to stay in games thanks to their big play and quick striking capabilities. Where they're going to have to fix things is on defense. Last season, the Raiders surrendered three touchdowns or more in seven of their 10 games. Dukes and his coaches realized that something needed to change, so they decided to trash the 4-2-5 they ran last season and implement a more everyday defense: the 4-3.

Now I don't think they're going to shut everyone out, but I definitely think the Raiders are capable of making the playoffs, however, I'm not ready to predict that.

I'll say Alpharetta goes 5-5 and finishes fifth in Region 6-AAAAA.
