Centennial, BT Both Two Wins Away From Soccer State Titles
Both Centennial and Blessed Trinity have have made their way to the state semifinals.
Both Centennial and Blessed Trinity have made their way to the state semifinals. The Titans are in at the A/AA level thanks to a thrilling 2-1 overtime home win Saturday against Savannah Country Day. In AAAAA action, Centennial had their way with visiting Warner Robins in a 3-0 victory.
Blessed Trinity will go on the road to Westminster Wednesday while Centennial will be hosting East Coweta that same night. This will be the second year in a row that Centennial has met up with the Eagles in the state tournament. Last season, East Coweta took the Knights in penalty kicks in a state quarterfinal final match that Coach Phil Thomas called a 'heartbreaking loss' at the time.
If the Knights make their way to the championship game, they'll have the luxury of playing at home Saturday against either Walton or Collins Hill. If BT gets to the title game, they'll head on the road to face either Greater Atlanta Christian or Thomasville.
