Chattahoochee Headed to Statesboro

If you were doing some holiday shopping this morning at Brandsmart USA (Nov. 27) and you happened to run into Chattahoochee head coach Terry Crowder, let's just say he wasn't there to buy a flatscreen TV.

If you were doing some holiday shopping this morning at Brandsmart USA (Nov. 27) and you happened to run into Chattahoochee head coach Terry Crowder, let's just say he wasn't there to buy a flatscreen TV.

The Hooch coach met up with Statesboro head coach Steve Pennington this morning at the Brandsmart on I-285 to flip a coin and determine which team will be hosting this Friday's state semifinal game.

With both teams being a No. 1 seed, GHSA bylaws mandate a coin toss to decide who will host.

Crowder got to flip the coin, Pennington got to call and for the first time all season, Chattahoochee lost at something. Pennington won the toss, which means that Chattahoochee will be traveling to Statesboro High School for this Friday's AAAA state semifinal game.

The 13-0 Cougars disposed of Dutchtown 37-14 on Friday while Statesboro (11-2) advanced to the semifinals by beating Kell 17-7.

Friday's semifinal game is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
