Everyone Wins During Roswell Spirit Week; Special Discounts From Local Merchants During Weeklong Event


 The Roswell High School Touchdown Club is kicking off Hornet Spirit Week August 7-13. Local businesses are participating by giving discounts and special offers to customers who show their Hornet pride by wearing green or by saying the phrase, “Go Hornets!”, when they shop.

Pre-Season Event Shows Community Pride for Roswell High School Football Team

 The Roswell High School Touchdown Club is kicking off Hornet Spirit Week August 7-13. Local businesses are participating by giving discounts and special offers to customers who show their Hornet pride by wearing green or by saying the phrase, “Go Hornets!”, when they shop.

“We’re so happy the business community is rallying around our team and cheerleaders to show their support and excitement for the upcoming football season,” said Skipper Beckmann, Roswell High School Touchdown Club president. “Roswell High School football isn’t just a sport, it’s a tradition and we’re fortunate to have a community that wants to get involved.”

Some of the participating merchants during Hornet Spirit Week include Arby’s, Kroger, Froots, That Dirty Dog, Zaxby’s, Moe’s, Huntington Learning Center, T-Nails, Tara Humata, Menchies ,Trader Joes and Slopes. In addition, there will be several events including a Hornet Car Wash that was held yesterday and a Cheerleader Cook-out that’s being held today from noon- 5 p.m. at the Kroger on Crabapple Road. The weeklong event concludes with a scrimmage on Friday, August 13, between the Hornets and the Kell Longhorns. The scrimmage gets underway at 7:30 p.m. at Ray Manus Stadium. Local vendor booths, special guests and a few surprises will also be in store during the game.   

“We’re looking forward to a great football season, the team has been working hard all summer and this is a great way to kick things off,” said Leo Barker, Roswell High School head football coach. “We want everyone to come out to the scrimmage and support our business partners who work with us all year.”
