Milton, Centennial Wins Shake Up Region 6-AAAAA

You may not remember last football season, so I'm going to give you a refresher: three teams tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in region six. It took 37 tiebreakers to finally figure out that Centennial would be in the postseason. It was high school football Armageddon. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm pretty sure the 37th and final tiebreaker was a left-handed arm wrestling match between Centennial coach Jeff Measor and Walton coach Rocky Hidalgo. Measor is an arm wrestling specialist and that's why the Knights ended up in the playoffs.
The reason I'm bringing this up is because thanks to Milton's stunning win over Alpharetta and Centennial's upset of Roswell, we now have a giant logjam in Region 6-AAAAA. Region 6 thinks it’s the NFL. What does that mean? It means super parity has taken over high school football and I no longer have any clue who's going to win any game. Except for Chattahoochee that is. They always win.
Anyway, with that in mind, lets get to this weeks picks.
Pinecrest at King's Ridge: King's Ridge will be happy to be playing a team this week that doesn't have an offensive line that's as big as the Falcons line (The Tigers lost to state No. 2 Wesleyan on Friday). The Tigers suffered a few key injuries against Wesleyan, so I'm going to take Pinecrest 24-17.
Pace Academy at Mt. Pisgah: If Mt. Pisgah wants to make it to the region play-in game, they absolutely have to win this game. I predicted the Patriots to make it to the region play-in game, so I think that means I have to pick them to win. Mt. Pisgah 35-31.
Holy Innocents at Fellowship: The Paladins put up a good fight against Mt. Pisgah, only losing 21-6. Holy Innocents beat Mt. Pisgah 48-21. That probably doesn't bode well for the Paladins. I'll take Holy Innocents 48-14.
Lovett at Blessed Trinity: This is a huge game for the Titans. A loss doesn't eliminate them from playoff contention, but a win would practically guarantee them a spot in the week 10 region play-in game. I think Lovett will be a little too much for the Titans, 24-14.
Chattahoochee at Sequoyah: The Cougars clinch a playoff berth with a win. The seniors on this team were freshmen the last time Hooch went to the playoffs. I think that should be enough incentive for Chattahoochee not to have a let down. Cougars take it 38-21.
Roswell at Alpharetta: If Alpharetta's schedule consisted of all non-region games, I think they would go 9-1 every season and average at least 47 points a game. It’s the region games that always seem to give the Raiders trouble. I have no clue who to pick here, which means I'm going to roll a die. If one, two, three or six comes up, I'm taking Roswell. If four or five comes up, I'll take Alpharetta. Is that fair? No, but neither is life. It's a two, I'll take the Hornets 21-17.
Northview at Milton: In good faith, I can't pick against any coaching staff that has the guts to call two fake punts in one game. After being left for dead last week, Milton could theoretically be tied for second in the region after this game. Lets say the Eagles win 28-14.
