North Fulton Invading Forsyth County This Week

I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is that there are eight interesting games for me to pick this week. The bad news is that the higher-ups only allot me 500 words for this column. If I were a higher-up, I would allot me 5,000 words, which is roughly the equivalent of a small book. Anyway, lets go straight to the picks.

Fellowship at SWAC: I don't know much about Southwest Atlanta Christian except that they're a Christian school that may or may not be southwest of Atlanta. The Paladin defense has impressed me the last few weeks, I think this game will be the opposite of a shootout. I'll take Fellowship 14-13.

King's Ridge at Mt. Pisgah: If you're making your weekend plans based where I'm going to be Friday night, then know this: I'll be at Mt. Pisgah covering this game. Since both these teams beat Fellowship, the winner of this game will win the first ever "Christian School King of the Hill." When I get my next raise, I'll have a trophy made. Whenever that happens, I think I'll be giving the trophy to Mt. Pisgah, Patriots 24-17.

Therrell at Blessed Trinity: Coach Ricky Turner at Blessed Trinity isn't bald, but he's going to be soon if he keeps watching his team play. His Titans have gone toe-to-toe with top-10 teams Westminster and Lovett, but they end up shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers. I'll say no one gets shot in the foot this week, BT wins this one 38-7.

Chattahoochee at Cass: If I would have started a high school fantasy football league this season (like I planned to), Timmy Byerly would have been my first pick. I'm also pretty sure Kane Whitehurst would have been my second pick, that's if he would have still been available. Hooch is averaging 42 points a game, I think they score 50. Cougars take it 55-10.

South Forsyth at Johns Creek: The Gladiators are 3-1 at home and they need to win this game to stay in the playoff hunt. I picked them to upset Lambert in their last game, they let me down, so I'm picking against them this week. Gladiators go down 21-17.

Northview at Roswell: Northview hasn't won a region game yet this year. And for some reason, I just don't think they're going to get their first region win at Roswell on senior night for the Hornets. Whoever shoots off the cannon after Roswell scores better bring a lot of ammo on Friday, I'll take the Hornets 38-7.

Milton at West Forsyth: If Milton pulls the upset here, then Region 6-AAAAA is going to be in complete disarray. Two weeks ago the Eagles stunned Alpharetta thanks to an ingenious game plan devised by the Milton coaches. My heart says Milton, but my head says West Forsyth. The last time I went against my head, I stayed up until four in the morning watching a Jersey Shore marathon. I'm never going against my head again, Eagles fall 17-14.

Centennial at North Forsyth: If you read this week's Dining Duo, you'll find out that I avoid Forsyth County at all costs. Its too far away, there's nothing fun there, there's just never any reason to ever go there. Since I don't like Forsyth County, I can't pick both of their teams to win. Centennial's on a roll, so I'm going to take them 24-21.

Bye: Alpharetta

Last week: 6-1
