Roswell Eliminated From Playoff Contention: H.S. Baseball Scores and Standings For Week of April 26-30


This is the final week of the high school baseball season, several teams will earn their way into the state playoffs this week and several will fall out of contention. Look for 'notes' below each game to see if your team clinched a playoff berth or was eliminated. 

Monday, April 26

Region 6-AAAAA

Alpharetta 3-0 over Roswell
Notes: Alpharetta clinches playoff berth, Roswell, who was nationally ranked in several preseason publications, is eliminated from playoff contention.

Milton 16-2 over Centennial
Notes: Milton clinches playoff berth. Eagles can still claim No. 1 seed in region if they win out.

Region 7-AAAAA

Chattahoochee 8-3 over Peachtree Ridge

Region 6-AA

Blessed Trinity 6-4 over Lovett
Notes: BT in playoffs, clinches No. 2 seed with one win in final two games or one Buford loss. Titans are also mathematically alive for No. 1 seed.

Region 7-A 

North Cobb 7-2 over Mt. Pisgah (Non-region game)

Fellowship Christian 11-1 over Paideia

Fellowship Christian 10-4 over Paideia (Teams finished game that was postponed from March 24)

 

Tuesday, April 27

Region 7-A

Mt. Pisgah 5-4 over St. Francis
Notes: Mt. Pisgah clinches first GHSA playoff berth in school history. Danny Schneider hits a 3-run homer for Patriots to send game into extra innings. Mt. Pisgah's Zach Thayer had the game-winning RBI in the top of the ninth when he singles in Fedale Hall.  

 

Wednesday, April 28

Region 6-AAAAA

Milton 10-0 over Lassiter
Notes: Milton wins Region 6-AAAAA title with a win over Roswell on Friday or a Lassiter loss to Pope. If Lassiter and Milton tie atop standings, than Lassiter wins region title. 

Alpharetta 9-4 over Pope

Roswell 7-5 over Centennial 

Region 7-AAAAA

Chattahoochee 10-2 over North Forsyth
Notes: Chattahoochee maintains one game lead over North Gwinnett for fourth and final seed in Region 7-AAAAA. If Hooch wins Friday versus Mill Creek, they are in playoffs. If Hooch loses, they can still get in based on region tiebreakers.  

Region 6-AA

Blessed Trinity 12-2 over Decatur
Notes: BT clinches No. 2 seed in region and will host a first round playoff series.  

 

Thursday, April 29 

Region 6-AA

Blessed Trinity 18-1 over Greater Atlanta Christian

Region 7-A

ELCA 4-3 over Mt. Pisgah
Notes: Mt. Pisgah closes season on Friday against Providence Christian. The winner will be the No. 3 seed out of Region 7-A, the loser will be the No. 4 seed.  

 

Friday, April 30

Region 6-AAAAA

Wheeler 5-2 over Alpharetta
Notes: Alpharetta's loss combined with Pope 8-5 win over Lassiter means Alpharetta is No. 4 seed.  

Centennial 10-9 over Kell
Notes: With Knights trailing 9-7, Wright McRaney hits 3-run walk-off home run for the win.  

Milton 5-4 over Roswell

Region 7-AAAAA

Mill Creek 17-2 over Chattahoochee
Notes: Chattahoochee loss combined with North Gwinnett win means Chattahoochee is out of the playoffs.   

Region 7-A

Fellowship 10-0 over St. Francis

Providence Christian 12-1 over Mt. Pisgah
Notes: Mt. Pisgah loss relegates them to No. 4 seed in Region 7-A.
